In celebration of University Day—the anniversary of our official transition from college to university in 2015—Rhianna Rogers, Ph.D., joins TESU to speak about the intricate relationship between higher education and technology. Her presentation, "The Transformative Possibilities of Technology in Higher Education: Case Studies from an Interdisciplinary Career Journey” will explore Rogers' career journey, highlighting how technology can be the driving force for both innovations and inequities. By emphasizing her prior work in digital equity (e.g., AI/Machine Learning, public policy, education, and broader technological equity), she will discuss how interdisciplinary in the tech space has shaped her career trajectory and how it can be effectively harnessed in higher education. Through her case studies, audience members will explore the pros and cons of digital equity projects and explore ways to leverage technology in the workplace.

Dr. Rogers is an independent researcher and former director of the RAND Center to Advance Racial Equity Policy.
