National HRD Network conceptualised on 2nd March 1985 and registered on December 6, 1986 at Ahmedabad has now reached to 50 chapters and over 20,000 members with a large cohort of students. While congratulations all those who brought NHRDN to this level, particularly the current Presidents, other officer bearers and team at the Secretariat, the Founder President of NHRDN, Dr. Rao sets out a significant direction for the future. The mission now shifts from humanising the “work place” to “humanising the society”. This requires every one from early years on after birth to late years in oladage to take charge is their own HRD (self discivery of talent, its application and multiplication) for growth of self and society. To move in this direction every member should start seeing their role as that of giving more than getting. He maintains that the days of getting from professional bodies is overt. Now they are places for learning by giving and playing leadership roles. Every member is NHRDN should become an Institution Builder and disseminator of HRD philosophy and values to every other section of the society. HRD is for all and every one is father or mother of one’s own HRD.
