Black Boar ATV Rear Storage Box and Lounger:

Basic Script:

What’s up Youtube?

Today we are going to talk about my Black Boar Rear Lounger as well as the rear foot rest I have installed alongside it. If you are looking to upgrade your ATV then stick around, this Video just might be helpful to you.

This is my Black Boar Rear Lounger I have it mounted on my 1028 Polaris Sportsman 450 HO. I will put a link to the product in the description below. It came with a basic installation guide detailing the install. It also came with the u-bolts needed for completing the install however I did not use them. I will put a link in the description below to Black Boars video on how to install the lounger on a ATV that comes with a normal metal rack. It was a little different of and install for me because my Polaris came with a plastic rear rack and the only way to mount to it is via these little plunger holes. I will discuss that further in a minute.

The rear lounger comes with a nice think bottom cushion and a nice padded back. I have ride the back of it and my wife has ridden in the back of it and both think it is quite comfortable. The sides have depressions were your arms can rest and there is a nice grip for your hand to grab onto. It does have a hole near the hands that allows for water to drain out which is nice.

It comes with these really think bungee cords that actually hold the lid down. To hold the lid down you have to pull the bungee cords down and over a mount to attach it. You might notice that mine has zip ties on one of the handles. This is because the little strap ripped off while using it. You can see it is just a little piece of fabric with one line of stitching. The other handle looks like it is about to fall off as well. So right there is something I am not too happy about but the fix will be easy enough. Besides the straps, once you get it open it is actually pretty spacious. The lid folds all the way forward and you have an upper cubby section and a lower cubby section.

You might notice that I have these toggle anchors in mine. These are what I actually used to install the box. I will put a link in the description to these Husky toggle anchors so you can find them. Basically all these are is just anchors and on the other side of it has this little toggle anchor that you can close and drop through the hole in the rack and it opens up on the other side and you can bold to that .What I did to figure out where I am going to drill my holes and put in my toggles. I took off the entire plastic rack and I laid it on the bottom of the box so I could mark out my holes. Then I put my rack back on, drilled out my holes then I put the anchor toggles down into the plastic rack and left the studs sticking up. The trick was to lay the box over all the studs, line up the holes and attach the anchor tops. I also put a think watcher under the anchor points to get more surface area. The anchors are not solid on the bit as they have a lit. I also had to cut a little length of the bolts that came with the toggle kit. You could also fill the space with stacked washers. If you looks closely you can see that dust gets into the box, probably a little water gets its. I have not had any issues everything I put in there stays dry and clean.

The part two to this I wanted to do was discuss the rear footsteps. These are solid metal they bolt right on. They took me about 10 minutes to install. All you have to do is drill to pilot wholes and use carriage bolts to tighten up. I will put a link to the product in the description below. I am really happy with these. Since I put them on they have not come loose and there has been no damage to the plastic.

Between the Black Boar rear lounger and the metal steps this thing has become quite a comfortable 2-up ATV
