Trevor Peres of Obituary on their death metal and thrash influences l Aggressive Tendencies

Obituary guitarist Trevor Peres talks about their death metal influences and the underlying thrash elements in their music. He reveals how local bands like Nasty Savage and Savatage mentored and influenced Obituary, while Obituary have managed to influence hardcore bands like Hatebreed, resulting in the band being a favourite death metal band for hardcore kids. He explains how the band pick which songs go on the album and which are saved for other purposes. Lastly, Peres explains the importance of his role as rhythm guitarist and why he's ok with the band's rotating lead guitarists putting their own stamps on the band's sound. April 11 2017.
