Advanced methods for comic book pressing and dent removal - Acclaim Maximum Carnage 1

In this video, I tackle pressing and dent removal of an Acclaim Maximum Carnage 1. This is a hard book to find in a high grade because of the paper quality as well as the fact it came with the video game. This particular version is in great condition, all things considered. However, it did have some significant dents and indentation on the front cover. To address this, I use an advanced technique employing a steel ball bearing, tack iron, and the "hot shots" method. In total, the book was pressed twice, each time flipping the book after 9 hours and repeating the heat application. The spine ticks, waves, and bends were completely removed. The dents were significantly mitigated or removed completely.


Equipment: Bienfang 210M Dry Mount Press with steel plates
Temp and duration: 145' for 15 minutes, flip after 9 hours and repeat, rest for 12-24 more hours x2
