Materials Needed:

1 bright LED (white for front light, red for rear)

1 resistor (depending on LED specs, e.g., 220 ohms)

2 AA or AAA batteries (or a 3V coin cell battery)

Battery holder (optional but helpful)

Small switch (optional)

Electrical tape or hot glue

Wire and wire stripper

Plastic casing (like a small mint tin or 3D-printed case)

Zip ties or Velcro straps to attach to bike

Steps:

1. Prepare the Circuit:

Connect the positive terminal of the battery to one end of the resistor.

Connect the other end of the resistor to the positive lead of the LED.

Connect the negative lead of the LED back to the negative terminal of the battery.

(Optional) Add a switch between the battery and resistor to turn the light on/off.

2. Test the Light:

Make sure everything is connected correctly. The LED should light up when power is connected.

3. Enclose the Circuit:

Secure the circuit inside a small waterproof case. Make holes for the light to shine and wires to exit.

Use hot glue or tape to secure components in place.

4. Mount the Light:

Use zip ties, Velcro, or brackets to attach the light securely to your bike’s handlebars (front) or seat post (rear).

5. Final Check:

Test the light in a dark room or outside at night to make sure it’s visible.
