Here we have André Greipel’s Ridley Noah SL, the bike he’ll be racing in 2017 .

The Lotto-Soudal fast man’s setup is largely unchanged from 2016, except for a bold custom paint job.

Splashed across the head tube is a Gorilla, the animal that Greipel is nicknamed after. Its roaring face an uncanny resemblance to Greipel’s finish like grimace. Further neat Gorilla inspired touches include custom Look Keo pedals, bespoke to Greipel’s bike. The rest of the frame is then black with a red and green design painted across it.

For 2017, Lotta-Soudal remain unchanged it their use of the Campagnolo EPS Super Record groupset as well as SRM power meters.

Similarly, the team continues to use Campagnolo’s Bora wheels, equipped with the beautiful tanned side walls of Vittoria tyres.

Up front, Greipel is running a lengthy 140mm stem which stretches him into an aerodynamic position as possible.

Interestingly, at 400mm his bars are narrow considering his hulking upper body, but sprinters are increasingly looking to get as aerodynamic as possible which a skinnier front end will always help with.

Some beautiful Lizard Skin bar tape wraps up the front end. The tape in black, white and red not only looks good but is also tacky and really grippy to boot.

You’ll also find a strip of the stuff on Greipel’s pedals which will help dampen the buzz from any rough roads as well as add grip between the cleat and the pedal.

The bike is completed by the SRM head unit that he’ll use to monitor his enormous power stats mid-race.
