Making a PS1 Environment P2

Описание к видео Making a PS1 Environment P2

After much waiting the episode is finally out!! In this episode we will pick up where we left off and continue our work on Echo's island. This video mostly shows off the process while going over some technique. Making everything from scratch takes quite a bit of time. Enclosed areas are easier to have borders, but I personally find open areas like this to be more challenging. Mostly due to the abundance of empty space. It's a long video so to jump ahead here are the timestamps:

00:00 Intro cutscene
03:27 Overview
04:11 Making The Garden Fence
07:57 Setting Up The Ground For Textures

Story concepts.

The Far Fathomed Forest:
This is a forest that takes up lots of space in pocket dimensions. No one knows how far it reaches, or how many other places around the world it connects to. Sometimes in places where portals or dimensional rifts pop up leading to this place , structures are known to pop up around them. However attempts to get close to them only seem to shift or teleport the person into a huge forest. The entrance of which is not a physical structure acting as a barrier results in the person being miles away from the area in which he first entered the portal. Time and space are shifty here. Even if you were to find another portal, it does not mean that you would even come out in the place you came into. Not unless you entered and exited in the same structure.

The area is highly magical, and several people have had what they call spiritual experiences in there. So much so that the forest is also referred to as the ghost forest. This is also the high amount of spirit activity here. Any attempt to map or explore the forest in depth however, has led to the disseverances of many people. Most countries and cultures tend to bar entry into such places and place talismans over there respected portals to keep out spirits.

Some religious officials take umbrage with this action. Claiming that the forest is the final resting place of souls and baring them off can cause spirits to become hostile towards the living. Which has led to most graveyards having some form of magical alterations to pacify and keep asleep the souls of the dead. Roomer and superstition surround the far fathomed forest.

The Wacker Jack
This new construct shown in the first few minutes in the video is called a Wacker Jack. It’s a close up hand to hand fighter constructed partially to help train Aldurroth (the horse headed character) in combat magic, by acting as a training dummy that punches you. However, Aldurroth is not very adept at combat and the Wacker Jack overtakes him with relative ease.

Vi ferrum Spell:
Or force punch is a spell used for training in combat magic. It’s one of the simplest spells anyone can make. Like with any spell it’s easy to over charge, but it is equivalent to how much magic you can put into it without breaking it or failing the spell. At the moment Aldurroths spell only has the force of a light punch impact while wearing a boxing glove. So, no real damage, only push back. But for now this is fine.

The Robed figure in the Forest
As of now the other characters and monsters seen at the end of the video are unknown. However, the one with the robe and commanding those cybernetic dogs seems to have sinister motives.
