Flying Types in Competitive Pokemon.

Competitive Singles has been kind to the Flying type. Before Gen 4 introduced Stealth Rock, Flying was an elite type, with it's crucial immunities to Ground type moves, Spikes, and even Arena Trap.

From Gen 4 onwards Flying types began to struggle a bit more as Stealth Rock punished them for entering the field.

Despite this, they persevered as a prominent type with enough advantages elsewhere to make up for Rock weakness.

With Heavy Duty Boots released in Gen 8, they were restored to their former glory.
