The United States-Mexico bilateral relationship is unique in the world, bound by geographical, commercial, historical, and cultural ties. This year, both countries will celebrate 200 years of formal diplomatic relations.

In commemoration of this milestone, join the Mexico Institute on September 13th from 3:30–5:00pm ET for the launch of Dolia Estévez’ latest book “Mexico, A Challenging Assignment: U.S. Ambassadors Share Their Experiences,” an updated version of her 2012 work published by the Wilson Center. This will be followed by a presentation from Ambassador Roberta Lajous on her book, “Embajadores de Estados Unidos en México. Diplomacia de crisis y oportunidades.” After the book presentations, please join us for an expert panel on the trajectory of US-Mexico bilateral relations and the importance of this diplomatic relationship. Following the event, please join us for a reception from 5:00-6:00pm celebrating the 200th anniversary of formal diplomatic relations.
