Maestro Ali Akbar Khan Teaching Puriya Dhanasri at AACM in '96

We want to share a special video with you as a gift from us!

Many of you had the opportunity to study directly from Maestro Ali Akbar Khan, lovingly referred to as Khansahib, but many of you did not.

It is because of his dedication to music and teaching that the AACM is still alive and thriving. He is the core of everything we do!

We have a video of Khansahib teaching Raag Puriya Dhanasri at the AACM, in 1996, that we want to share with you.

We hope this video conveys some of the magic and careful attention Khansahib gave to his students. His mastery was on display in each and every class for 40 years. Much of his teaching is available in his library located at the AACM, but his class videos have yet to be transferred. We have 10 years of class videos to digitize and catalog. One day, we will be able to make these treasures available in the library as well.
