A major upgrade of the site and monument at Beál na Bláth in Co Cork is planned in an effort to make it more 'visitor friendly'. This comes ahead of the one hundredth anniversary of the death of Michael Collins who was ambushed and shot dead at the site by Anti-Treaty troops in August 1922.
