Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland visits Markham, Ont., to discuss how federal investments are expanding the city’s low-carbon energy network. She faces questions from reporters on reports that the prime minister’s office may be looking to replace her with Mark Carney as finance minister and whether she has received assurances from the prime minister that she will be staying on in the role.

She is joined by Frank Scarpitti (mayor of Markham), Bruce Ander (president and CEO of Markham District Energy), Rory Nisan (Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ Ontario caucus chair), Cara-Lynne Wade (director of energy transition planning and energy conservation at Enbridge Gas), and Rob Thornton (president and CEO of International District Energy Association).
