I am back for another challenge run. This time it's a soul level 1 challenge run.

I deleted the last video or two as there were a few audio issues. I think that's been sorted out now.

In this episode, I clean out most things in the Demon Ruins and Lost Izalith, including: the Demon Firesage, the Centipede Demon, the Bed of Chaos, Solaire and Kirk the Knight of Thorns. I grab the Large Flame ember and forget the to grab the Chaos ember.

Also, since I didn't get a skull lantern in the Catacombs, I take a detour to the chaos bugs, slay Solaire and grab the sunlight maggot to be able to trek down into the Tomb of the Giants.

My rules:
1) Beat the game with no levelling up of the character
2) No dupes, glitches, skips, cheats, etc
3) No online play, no cooperation, no in game summons.
4) Must beat all bosses (DLC included)
5) Think that about covers it, no?

Weapons list:
The only class to start at SL1 is the Pyromancer, who has 12 strength, 9 dexterity and 10 Intelligence.

Thus, the full list of useable weapons (assuming I haven't missed anything is, and in no particular order) is:
1) Dagger
2) Hand axe
3) Battle axe
4) Reinforced club
5) Mace
6) Morning Star
7) Pickaxe
8) Blacksmith hammer
9) Giant Blacksmith Hammer
10) Hammer of Vamos
11) Caestus
12) Dark Hand
13) Light Crossbow
14) Sorcerer Catalyst (for magic weapon/shield)

Strategy:

No great strategy. Just make sure your weapon (either pyromancy glove or melee weapon) is as upgraded as it can be to maximize your damage output. Try to collect rings, shields, a light crossbow, armour sets and other helpful items to make it easier to progress through the game.

Important NPCS:
Any blacksmith, most notably Andre of Astora
Griggs of Vinheim (Bellowing DragonCrest ring)
Laurentius
Quelana

Blacksmiths are the most important NPCS in this run, for a melee run. Getting the embers and upgraded weapons are going to be the way you deal most of your damage. Use different embers like fire or lightning for enemies that have specific weaknesses. Obviously Laurentius and Quelana are most important if you decide to use/dabble in pyromancy, either as support or as a main weapon.

Rings: Important in this run. Help address the limitations of being level 1.
Some of the more useful rings in this run
1) Havels
2) Ring of favour and protection
3) Steel protection
4) Cloranthy, etc.

Difficulties:
Most of the difficulties in this run lie in the lack of health you have, the lack of damage you may do and the lack of weapon choices at your disposal. Having an upgraded or elemental weapon, wearing the right rings/armour and carrying a crossbow should address most of these difficulties.
