The Howe Sound Crest Trail (HSCT) - 3 Days and 2 Nights

Jen and I spent a year preparing for this trek we basically went from nothing to planning one of BC's more treacherous trails. Our preparation included training our bodies for carrying heavy back packs, getting the proper gear, and doing various day hikes along the route so as to become familiar with the terrain. In the end it was still a difficult but amazing adventure.

We took our dog, as we always do. Be cautious though, the HSCT is not for all dogs. I highly recommend taking your doggo on many other day hikes for training, it requires a handler who is confident with heights as well as a doggo who requires little assistance except for in the hardest of rope sections (there are many rope sections, mostly going down David's Peak - it would not be good to have to turn around if you deem your dog can't make it).

Jen and I took our time as the most common comment we received when researching was..."We wish we took longer". Many people who do this in one night only will likely never want to return. It all comes down to how you enjoy hiking. The middle section of the trail is a lot of effort even though you only cover a short distance on the map.
