Over the past week, observers in the early eastern morning sky have witnessed the moon gracefully moving in concert with Jupiter and Venus. On August 19, the trio formed a line in the sky. But not happy with that simple geometric shape, the moon and planets also formed a triangle on the morning of August 20. The constellations Gemini, with its bright stars Castor and Pollux, and Orion the Hunter, were a wonderful addition to this amazing show. Plus, Mercury was kind of shy near the horizon, but didn’t want to miss the party. And Uranus and Neptune were present too, but not visible to the unaided eye.
