Henry Garnet, a usually good-natured broker, is unusually irritable during a game of bridge at his club. His friends learn that his son, Nicky, had an adventurous trip to Monte Carlo, against Garnet's cautious advice. Nicky gambled, lent money, and got involved with a woman, yet ended up winning money and outsmarting a thief. Garnet is frustrated because Nicky's successful misadventures make his fatherly advice seem foolish.....
