2017 Santa Clara Vanguard Tournament of Roses Parade

We were halted behind a broke-down float. First, starting with Uptown Funk, realizing that we were actually halted right in front of grand stands that included all of our Music and Visual Staff from the week, THEY WERE FIRED UP! And, the crowd, having almost definitely NEVER even heard a Drum Corps, got a first hand lesson the power of 190 horns and drums in the face with Canyon!

Before we played, there was a little boy about 9 sitting there with his mom. I said, "Hey, Buddy!" and his mom nudged him, amazed that one of use was talking to him. I said showing with my hands whispering, "cover your ears" and then winked. Then, horns up!

This was definitely a highlight for me, the second baritone from the right and right in front, after we turned to play to crowd.
