In 2015 I went into early labor half way through my pregnancy with our second daughter. She didn't live, and I nearly died from the experience, (like literally-- there were dramatic helicopter rides, and ICU visits, and me having to say goodbye to my husband in the OR.) Ultimately, I made it through, but was left with crazy PTSD, and obviously grief for the daughter we lost. During the recovery, I was shocked to see how how society deals with women, grief, and the ways in which we're expected to package our pain to make it palatable to others.
