Joost Willemze - Orpheus (Live concert in TivoliVredenburg)

Описание к видео Joost Willemze - Orpheus (Live concert in TivoliVredenburg)

This show was played 15 times in 2023 for the series Dutch Classical Talent, resulting in Joost winning the Dutch Classical Talent Award. For Joost, who studied classics alongside his conservatoire training, Orpheus is a dream performance in which he connects his love for music and Greek mythology. The jury also linked him to antiquity: 'Like a Greek god, he plays the harp. With his serene appearance and stylised programme, he shows us how beautiful simplicity can be. Wonderful big sound and clear virtuosity.' Works by Rossi, Gluck, Brahms, Takemitsu, Flothuis and two commissioned pieces: one for solo harp by Dutch-Argentinian composer Carlos Micháns, the other for harp and electronics by Dutch-Iranian composers Ramin Amin Tafreshi & Soheil Shayesteh.
