Ao Tribe
The Ao are one of the major Naga tribes of Nagaland, Northeast India. The AO Nagas are divided into six major sub-tribes namely Jamir, Longkumer, Pongen, Imchen, walling and Longcherthe Ao region and the distancing of the region is bounded by the TZULA RIVER.

The Ao religion is considered animist. Anishi is a special food of the Ao tribe. Agriculture is not merely a source of their livelihood but is a way of life and gives expression to the socio-biological existence.
