We received a DNA test kit from Basepaws to get to know some more about Alvi's genetical background. It was a bit of a struggle to take the sample but in the end we got some interesting information.
UPDATE: some people have criticized this video because of the hassle it was to take Alvi's dna-sample for a report that would not be of any use.
First: we never like to bother Alvi and we are always very strict when it comes to respecting his boundaries but it just turned out a little more difficult than expected to take the sample. Still, most cats probably won't bother to chew on a little stick for a few seconds.

Second: an important goal to do the test was to find out if Alvi would maybe have some DNA deviant we should inform the vet about, to pay extra attention to in the future. Luckily Alvi tested negative on all genetic health markers.
Now how useful can these DNA-tests be?
