How to install metal mesh to block Raccoon on basement window well?

I got a visitor, Mr. Raccoon in my Basement Window Well. Discovered by my neighbor's dog and I started this DIY project to block him/her from coming back. If you encounter wild life in your property, DO NOT try to catch, trap or relocate them by yourself, IT IS ILLEGAL in Ontario, Canada unless you are licensed. Call the animal control company for help, these are adorable and cute wild life animals, we should respect them and co-exist in harmony.
