James McGrath: Mandaean manuscripts at the Bodleian

Manuscripts featured:

MS Drower 8 Diwan Abatur: long illustrated roll..

MS. Syr. F. 2(R): the small roll of prayers with the several handwritten notes that show how the physical item in the library offers more than just the manuscript itself but connects us with the scholars and others who have worked with the text in the past.

MS. Drower 22 Ginza Rba is their most sacred text, the codex on the far end of the table.

MS. Drower 30 is the one known as the Book of John and was near the other end the table. That is the one that is featured also in James McGrath's book on the Mandaean Book of John: Critical Edition, Translation, and Commentary published by DeGruyter.
