NPC Advantages: gardevoir (life dew), burners (drifblim, arcanine), and paralyzers (bellibolt, umbreon, and dudunsparce) help. sylveon (charm) and intimidators (tauros, staraptor) may or may not help much depending on how much the sceptile AI decides to spam dragon dance. arboliva is harmful because it lays terrain with its ability which boosts sceptile's leaf blade.

Strategy: if you get hit with leaf storm, rest + heal cheer. wait for your stats to reset before taking your next turn. 3x iron defense, rest when HP gets low. 3x tera blast, terastalize, 3x swords dance, tera blast to victory.

Notes: the purpose of waiting for your stats to reset is to ensure that after the stat reset, sceptile's stats start at at 0 like yours, rather than having it reset you to 0 with him at +6. 3x iron defense ensures he never gets far ahead. this also makes it safe to get hit with a critical hit on the turn where shell armor is suppressed. in the recorded run I did the swords dances before charging the tera orb, but I realized it would have been better to terastalize sooner, in case sceptile decided to unexpectedly use breaking swipe.

Pros: supereffective tera type, decent HP stat, excellent atk and def stats, immune to breaking swipe after terastalizing. rest full HP bar. shell bell heals when attacking, proportional to damage dealt. iron defense buffs 2 def stages. swords dance buffs 2 atk stages. battle armor grants critical hit immunity which is immensely valuable given that neutral leaf blade critical hits at +6 atk can 1HKO most species and normally have a 1 in 8 chance of happening. tera blast has 80 base power, 100 accuracy, and deals supereffective STAB damage when terastalized.

Cons: tera type mismatches base type, outsped by sceptile, atrocious HP and spdef stats
