Edwina Cowell of Spiritual Playdate and Vicki Garlock of Faith Seeker Kids will share their strategies for helping kids become peace leaders for their generation. Edwina will offer her thoughts on the importance of socio-emotional education for kids and share some of the on-line, interactive games her team has created. Vicki Garlock will discuss the importance of using narratives from across time, place, and faith traditions to help kids explore and develop a broad-based concept of what peace means and how we might achieve it in our pluralistic world. Their presentations will be followed by a Q & A.

The Rev. Dr. Vicki Garlock offers interfaith education and religious literacy resources for kids of all ages. She has published a 4-volume Interfaith Peace Curriculum for kids, and her first kids’ book, We All Have Sacred Spaces, came out last summer. Her latest book, Embracing Peace: Stories from the World’s Faith Traditions, will be out soon! She earned her Ph.D. in Psychology with a specialty in cognitive development and was ordained Minister of Education at Jubilee! Church in Asheville, NC
