Walk Behind Lawn Mower Won't Start - No Spark - Coil Test & Fix. Whether your lawn mower stopped while you were mowing and wouldn't start again or it just won't start, you may have a very common problem...a bad ignition coil / ignition module.
The coil has primary and secondary windings in it that send an electrical current to the spark plug that, when mixed with gas in the cylinder, will fire and allow the engine to run. If your ignition coil has a short in it, not allowing the spark plug to spark, then your engine will quit running and not start.
There can be a few other reasons why your engine has no spark. In this video I will show you how to narrow down and diagnose what the problem is, what to look for and how to fix it.
