In the past few days, I've been thinking about how to have hard conversations with compassion. God has been using the messy times in the history of my marriage to Jason to remind me and teach me what I need to be doing right now. One of those things is to have hard conversations with compassion! Jason and I have never come out of hard times without a lot of hard conversation, without gaining the other partner’s perspective, without reflection, without looking at each other’s point of view. But when we have done those things, we always come out stronger on the other side.

I had a moment of realization that this feels similar to our nation’s current struggles. My prayer is that we are all doing the hard work right now so that our country will come out of this stronger than ever before.
