If you'll allow me to share, this arrangement comes from a very personal experience. Have you ever had a moment that sucked the breath from you? Where you fall to your knees in grief? One of my kids had a life-altering moment. It was bad. I knew it was going to hurt this child (and others) for many years to come. Desperate for solace, I turned to prayer and to the scriptures. Randomly, I read a story of a prophet who, by his faith, moved a mountain. An entire mountain! My passing thought was, “I wish I had that kind of faith,” because my child's problem literally felt like a mountain in their life. That was it, though; a quick thought, and I moved on. An hour later, my daughter walked by and was listening to Pentatonix’s version of this song. The specific words playing were: “We were moving mountains long before we knew we could. There can be miracles when you believe.” It startled me, but I brushed it off as a coincidence. Literally fifteen minutes later, my husband called from a work trip, and in the middle of him telling me about everything there, he said, “I told them we’d have to move mountains to make it happen.” I stopped him and said, “What did you say?” He was a little surprised but repeated the phrase. He’s never, that I can remember, used that phrase before. "Move mountains." After that, I begged God to know if what I was suspecting was actually true. Would He move this mountain? Sure enough, the next morning, the problem was removed from my child’s life. I still don’t know how something so huge resolved so quickly and painlessly. I can only call it a miracle. Needless to say, this song is now a favorite of mine. Even though my arrangement is a piano solo, I had to include the lyrics.

I hope the sweet message of this song helps you, like it helped me, because, while times are tough, and while things can seem impossible, I know God still moves mountains when we believe.
