One of the most well recognized mecha anime of all time, it comes just behind the likes of Gundam. The story is complicated and probably has some sort of philosophical tones about puberty, but let’s be honest, most of us came for the giant robots, and that’s what we got. Lots and lots of giant robots, alien (Or maybe we’re the aliens) kaiju, and tons upon tons of depression. So in celebration of a great series, let’s run over the history of it like a lawn mower would a flip flop.
