Kawasaki KLX230R check engine light codes retrieval

Описание к видео Kawasaki KLX230R check engine light codes retrieval

This video shows how to pull the codes associated with the check engine light on a 2020 Kawasaki KLX 230R. Our check engine light was on, and the dealership told me what I needed to do to get the check engine code from the bike. This video shows where you can ground out a pin to obtain the code. You can check the code by taking off the left side cover and finding the small (about 1”) black wire that has a female receptacle and grounding it before turning the bike on. When the bike turns on the check engine light should blink with a series of long and short codes. The code in my case as seen in this video was "24 - speed sensor malfunction" manifested with a long-long-short-short-short-short series of blinks on the check engine light. I ended up taking it into the dealership to have them repair the speed sensor.

Update 10/8/2020 - I have a second instance now of the “24-speed sensor malfunction.” I have contacted the dealership again. They are getting the local Kawasaki rep involved. We were riding the bike on a smooth dirt road when it came on, so it’s not like we were doing any rugged off-roaring. Kawasaki needs to fix this.
