Roopkund Trek | Roopkund Lake Mystery | Ali Bedni Bugyal Trek | Roopkund Jheel Uttarakhand

Roopkund (mystery lake) & Ali Bedni Bugyal trek in Uttarakhand are one of the most famous & adventurous & beautiful treks situated in high Himalayan region. Roopkund is famous for the skeletal remains of hundreds of people which are visible at this lake. These skeletons are said to be from the 9th or 10th century.

There are a lot of stories and theories on how theses skeletons came here. It is believed that in 9th century, many people came here on pilgrimage. But due to bad weather and hailstorm, they buried here alive.

I did my Roopkund trek with a Trekking company 'Raftaar Adventure' which is based on Lohajung. Raftaar Adventure team managed all my trek needs. I had awesome experience. You can also do Barhmatal, Ali Bedni Bugyal & Kedarkantha treks with them. Apart from this, you can take trekking equipment and other trek related things on rent from them

Roopkund trek begins from a small village called Lohajung which is 250 KMs from Rishikesh. This is a 6-7 day trek. In this trek you will pass through a lot of small villages and meadows. Continuous changing landscapes and weather will make this trek little difficult and adventurous.
