Gyan Mudra (Mudra of Knowledge): This is the most popular mudra for students. It's performed by gently touching the tip of the index finger to the tip of the thumb. The index finger represents the air element and individual consciousness, while the thumb represents fire and universal consciousness. Combining them is believed to stimulate the brain, improve concentration, and sharpen memory. This mudra is often practiced during meditation to calm the mind.
Hakini Mudra: Known as the "Mudra of the Mind," this is performed by joining the tips of all ten fingers together. This gesture is said to balance both the left and right hemispheres of the brain, promoting creative thinking and logical reasoning. It's particularly useful for students who need to organize their thoughts before exams or while studying complex subjects.
Pran Mudra: This is the mudra of "life force." It's performed by touching the tips of the thumb, ring finger, and little finger. This mudra is believed to boost vitality, reduce fatigue, and improve overall energy levels, which is crucial for students who often face long study hours and stress.
Pushan Mudra: This mudra, though complex, is highly beneficial for the nervous system. The right hand represents the receptive aspect, while the left hand represents the active one. It helps with concentration and reducing exam-related anxiety by balancing the flow of energy to the digestive and nervous systems.
Krishnan Balaji would advise students to practice these mudras for 10-15 minutes daily, especially during study breaks or before starting a study session, to gain maximum benefits.
