Major Police Response to a Pursuit Suspect Search in Northridge

Multiple law enforcement agencies were called out to locate a pursuit suspect who led the California Highway Patrol on a pursuit in the west San Fernando Valley Thursday afternoon. During the chase, a CHP motorcycle officer who was responding to the chase got in an accident and sustained injuries. The officer was transported to a local hospital. The suspect, who was wanted for an assault with a deadly weapon on a CHP officer, later fled the vehicle and reportedly ran into an apartment complex. Agencies including the Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles School Police responded to assist with the search and perimeter set up. The suspect was apprehended and taken into custody after a lengthy search of the neighborhood.
