In US news and current events today, musician Victoria Canal is pushing for better media representation of ‘asymmetrical’ professionals like herself.

Victoria Canal is a Spanish-American singer-songwriter. She has lived and performed all around the world with artists like Michael Franti and Macy Gray. Canal learned how to play the piano from a young age,
despite critics saying her disability would prevent it.

In 2019, Canal was tapped to represent an adaptive model of Air Jordan sneakers, designed by Nike. The shoe includes a velcro strap to assist athletes & sneaker lovers who might have different ranges of mobility.

Canal is set to release a new EP. Its themes deal with her experiences growing up in her 20s, and embracing all the sides to her personality. Canal’s single ‘Drama’ deals with brushing off both internal & external critics and trying your best during trying times. Her larger EP is set to release in 2020.
