MENTAL HEALTH WARRIORS - In Brotherhood There is Strength

A warrior is someone engaged in struggle or conflict. There are far too many solitary warriors who are tired, who feel alone and don't know where to turn. Those days are over.

Safety is the new black. It is absolutely incredible to watch men join a group, realize it's safe, and finally drop the mask they've been wearing for so long. I've seen it happen many, many times.

Brian Knowler, author of On the Other Side of Broken, and I have a huge announcement to make and Mental Health Week is the perfect time to make it.

We are teaming up, along with Jeff Grantham, to launch a new community called Mental Health Warriors. Our goal is to create a tribe of men who are either dealing with mental heath issues themselves or trying their best to support loved ones dealing with mental health issues.

This is a community by men, for men. It's a tribe, a band of brothers who operate according to 5 Guiding Principles:

Community - we are a band of brothers who have each others back - always. You are never alone.

Confidentiality - nothing leaves our group - ever. Our word is our bond

Safety - Our tribe is one where men are safe to be open and honest, no matter what they are dealing with.

Accountability - we broker no bullshit. When we commit, we do everything in our power to deliver. We hold each other to our commitments.

Excellence - we strive to achieve excellence. When we fail, we dust ourselves off, get up and try again. There is no other way.

Our philosophy is build on 3 Pillars. We'll teach you and learn together.

I've tried to run from this for the last seven years. Sometimes I get sick of talking about Cindy and her illness and death. But I keep getting called back to it. It's time for us to stop talking and to take action - direct, massive and focused action to help men. To be the men I wish I had found during my darkest hours.

So, how does it work?

We have created a two-step vetting process to ensure complete privacy. It works like this:

1. Go to the main group and request to join:   / thementalhealthwarriors  

2. Request to join and we'll ask you some questions about you.

3. When you are approved you will be added to a secret group and removed from the main group.

4. Your membership in our tribe is completely confidential.
