This is an explanation of track layouts at a basic level. Here I aim to explain the ways in which train routing generally works through stations, and is a great way of explaining the routes that trains take through stations. I discuss loop lines, train routing and more.

One must note, however, that signalling is not discussed, despite being closely related. There's a separate video planned for that. This is also the first step in answering the very complicated question "Why is My Train Late?" as there are several reasons for it, all of which require multi-layered answers.
