If you’re thinking about writing and publishing a book, I want you to get a really good pair of sneakers and lace those babies tight because it’s a long road ahead.

That may seem daunting but it doesn’t have to be.

Marathon runners condition and train to be successful for those long ass miles.

It’s no different in becoming an author–you condition and train.

You strengthen your mindset.

You practice your writing skills.

You stay committed to your end goal.

You show up each day to do what you need to do to prepare and cross the finish line.

It’s not impossible when you put in the time and effort and when you have the right coach cheering you on and also identifying the milestones and the way the road twists and turns.

More than anything, before you get started on writing and publishing, you want to know that this is a LONG game.

I know that there are programs out there that can get you writing and publishing in just a few months but those programs don’t work for everyone, first of all.

Second of all, those programs aren’t considering the everlasting journey that happens after the book is published–promotion.

So, don’t mistake this journey for a sprint. I assure you it’s not.

But also don’t let that dissuade you.

Anyone with enough determination and motivation can learn how to run a long distance and so, too, can you learn to write and publish a book.
