This is a review of the Astronomik UHC Ultra High Contrast Filter and also a comparison to the Solomark brand UHC Filter.
The category was broken down into four groups:
Durability and Craftsmanship: Astronomik 1 Star Solomark 1 Star
Cleaning and Maintenance: Astronomik 1 Star Solomark 1 Star
High Contrast Astronomik 1 Star SoloMark N/A
Nebulosity / Definition Astronomik 1 Star Solomark N/A

The Astronomik brand was much better. Cleaner and sharper images while darkening the backgrounds and increasing the brightness of the stars and bringing out the gaseous clouds in nebula. The Astronomik was given four stars because it ranked best in all four categories.
The Solomark brand did not do so well in the observing department and even though you could see some definition; it wasn’t enough to my standards. This was the same with the higher contrast and sharper images. The Solomark brand did not get the contrast I was hoping for.


Final conclusion:

The Astronomik brand is far better and I highly recommend people get one of these filters; especially if you plan to do some serious observing of the night skies. It worked great on nebula, galaxies, the moon, Stars and clusters of stars and even Jupiter. I did not try it on other planets.
However I am sure those planets being viewed will be equally impressive when using the Astronomik UHC Filter.!
