Today on our 2019 Honda Odyssey we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with four pole flat trailer connector. This gonna be part number C56382.Here's what our wiring is gonna look like once we have it installed. It is gone provide us with a four pole flat trailer connector so we get all the required lights to safely get down the road, like our taillights, turn signals, and our brake lights. Our wiring is designed to live on the inside of the vehicle until we're ready to use it, then we can simply drop it out the hatch, close it, and our wiring will be right by our hitch. Whenever we're not using it, we can open up our hatch and we can store it on the inside in the very back. The nice thing about our wiring is that we're not gonna have to cut or splice into our factory wiring at all. It's gonna have a simple plug in connector, it's actually gonna be behind this panel right here.
We'll plug into this plug, put some fuses in place, and just route our wire towards the back. Our wiring does have a power converter box that's gonna take the signal from our Odyssey and send out the correct signal to our trailer so we have working lights. It's also gone protect our vehicle's wiring so if there we're any kind of back feeding issues it's not gonna do any damage to our vehicle. To begin our installation we're gonna open up the rear hatch and we're gonna need to loosen the panel over here on the driver's side as well as remove the threshold. There's gonna be a tie down hook right here at the corner as well as two on the threshold. These are just gonna unscrew, but so I don't damage it, I'm gonna take a paper towel and wrap it around the hook and then I'm gonna take a pair of pliers that way in can grab it and turn it and break it loose, then I can pull it out. We'll do the same thing for the fasteners on the threshold here, we'll have one on each corner.
With the fasteners removed we'll come to the very bottom of our threshold, we're gonna pull straight. That'll release the clips, and we just want to work our way across until we can get it completely out. Then we can set it aside where it won't get damaged. With our threshold removed we can get access to this side panel, so we can peel it back and get a little bit more room to work with. We'll start at the bottom corner, just start pulling it back just so we have enough room to get in there to work with. Then we'll move to this access panel, it's gonna be towards the front of the vehicle.
We'll take the cover off and there should be a blue connector on the inside, that's gonna match up to our wiring harness. You want to make sure you have plenty of room. If you move the panel you should be able to get all the way to the plug from the back side, that way we have room to route all of our wires and make all the connections back here.We can start by taking our new wiring harness, you want to make sure that the fuse is out for now, but we'll take the blue end and we're gonna feed it behind the panel and plug it into the factory plug. When you hear that audible click, we know that it's locked in place. We're gonna take the provided 10 amp fuse, put it into the fuse holder, then we can close the cover up.
We should have one more wire left over that we're gonna need to connect, this is gonna be our ground wire. Now, you can use the provided self tapping screw to go directly into the body or you can find a bolt or an existing ground back here that we can attach our ground wire to. Now if we look right where our plug is and we go up, there's gonna be be factory ground point right there, so we'll grab a 10 mm socket, pull that bolt out, and slide our ground wire over it.After you have your ground made, you're just gonna want to make sure that you secure your convert box so it'll be out of the way and it's not gonna be rattling around. You want to route your four pole wire to the center and the very back, and then we can start clipping our panels back in place. With all of our wires hooked up, we're gonna have to put in a few fuses to activate our tow package. We'll take the provided 30 amp fuse and this is gonna go into the top slot right there in number 12. We're also gonna have a few mini fuses that we'll have to put in place, one is a seven and a half amp and it'll go at the very bottom on the left hand side, we're gonna have two of these and these are gonna go in at spot number 10 and 11.Now we can put our cover back on and test our wiring. I went ahead and plugged in my tester, that way I can check all the circuits. If you need one of these you can pick one up here at
