Getting waitlisted is challenging! If you are waitlisted for a program, it means that the admissions committee has reviewed your application but not made a final decision yet! If you want to increase the chances of acceptance, there are certain tips you can follow-

🎓 Reiterate fit- In your communication, reiterate how you believe you are a perfect fit for the program & that it aligns with your skills & goals.

🎓 Update your application- If you have any noteworthy achievements after you submitted your application, such as test scores, courses, work experience; consider sending an update letter to the admissions stating all the achievements. This will showcase your continued interest in the program.

🎓 Provide additional information- If you think you haven’t covered a specific area in the application, consider sending additional materials supporting your case. However, make sure that you are not overwhelming the admissions committee with excessive details.

🎓 Connect with alumni/current students- If there are any current students/alumni who have been through the same process in the past, connect with them to navigate the waitlist process.

🎓 Plan other options- Make sure you explore other opportunities and not just be dependent on one university. Remember that you might need to make a decision on another offer before you hear back from the waitlisted program.

🎓 Stay positive & patient- Admissions officers are often busy with multiple applications and the process may take time. Give enough time to the admissions committee to review your application & stay positive throughout the process.
