Art Installation Coordination by Prof. Gerald Estadieu

This art installation, part of the “Soundwalk Macao” Research Project coordinated by Prof. Gérald Estadieu, Prof. Jung Chul-Hur, and researchers Diogo Vieira and Moon Cheung, encouraged people to explore Macao’s soundscapes. This installation provided a one-of-a-kind sensory experience with motion graphics and imagery.

Sounds and Noises are a major part of human perception of the surrounding world. Yet, we are usually not paying attention to sounds and how they are understood by our brain and body. We are naturally apprehending the world around us, mainly with our sight. This installation art proposes to enter the circle and experience an audiovisual trip in Macao.
Through this simple experience, we wish to let the sound guide us and reveal its intricate details and richness, encouraging us to be more attentive in our daily lives to what we are listening to.
The study of Soundscape, conducted over a period of 3 months, is ultimately to improve the noise pollution in the city and the quality of life. It relates to the UN Sustainable Goals "Sustainable Cities and Communities" and "Good Health and Well-Being"
