Описание к видео I ate WHEY protein for 5 YEARS & this is what i KNOW! (தமிழ்).

Series Supplements episode 1: what we are going to break down in our first video of supplements science is of course whey protein.
whey protein is sourced from none other than milk which is separated from curd yields liquid whey. which again is processed through ultra filtration and ion exchange to get whey protein concentrate which has 80% protein and some milk fats and sugars mainly lactose. This WPC is again subjected to multiple rounds of filtration to yield whey protein isolate which has 90% whey and lil to no lactose.

WPC vs WPI:
whey protein concentrate has 80% protein with 24 gms of protein per scoop and lactose.
whey protein isolate on the other hand has 90% protein and no lactose and that basically it.
However the biggest difference is price because of the extra filtration processes the WPI tend to become a lil bit costlier!

advantages:
1. Easy to digest!
2. Absorption is quick
3. Contains a lot of leucine is is of prime importance when it comes to kick starting your muscle protein synthesis.

side effects:
If you are some one who is just introduced to whey protein iam afraid you will have some gut disturbances, because of the concentrated nature of the protein in whey. However its a matter of acclimatisation and consume after food to reduce the disturbances and you will be fine.

If you experience bloating and flatulance it is also a matter of acclimatisation and if not and your disturbances persists for a long time there is a chance that you may be mildly lactose intolerant. In that case you can opt for WPI.

coming to the biggest question: Do you need whey protein?
My honest answer is both yes and no:
no for whom: lets face it whey protein is costly, if you are school and college student who doest earn a lot you don't have to rely on whey you can get your protein requirements full filled by real foods.

yes for: those who work and doesn't have a lot of time premium to do meal preps can go for a whey

my personal experience: I am consuming whey for the past 5 years and honestly I found no advantage of protein from real food interms of muscle building and workout performance. the only advantage of using whey is the CONVENIENCE & TIME EFFICIENCY!

thank you for watching!
