A locally-monitored level crossing with automatic half barriers, and protected by red/white LED drivers' crossing indicators, found in the small village of Quintrell Downs a few miles from Newquay, beside the village's railway station on the single track line from Par to Newquay (named 'The Atlantic Coast Line' because of the Atlantic currents in the waters around the Coastal town of Newquay). The station and line gets a two-hourly local stopping service in each direction, as well as additional direct trains from London Paddington in the Summer months, but these pass through all the intermediate stations on the line (including this one) non-stop.

This level crossing is found on a very busy A road that runs roughly north - south through the village, and despite this it has quiet alarms and still only half barriers. The footways across it are quite narrow. 5 different lowerings have been featured in this video, 3 filmed in morning light, and two filmed in the dark. I was able to film more than one here despite the relatively sparse service as I was staying close by.

Though I didn't notice this at the time, I was filming the level crossing with its alarms in 'night mode' more than with its alarms in 'day mode', as they're probably switched between the two quite late in the morning. Those I filmed in daylight were filmed before 9AM though, one even filmed at around half 7 in the morning.

Thanks for watching!
