Hi, I'm Dr. Carly Letzt Carney, and I'd like to talk with you today about carpal tunnel syndrome and the unique form of chiropractic that we provide that helps greatly with the symptom.

Carpal Tunnel Pain is Felt in the Wrist

Oftentimes, when people are diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome, they think that it's an issue with their wrist. Usually, someone is experiencing discomfort in this part of their wrist, and carpal tunnel syndrome really is caused by interference with the median nerve. The median nerve comes out of the brachial plexus. The brachial plexus is made up of a bunch of different nerve roots that come together and eventually create the median nerve. The median nerve then travels down the arm and, in this area, oftentimes someone feels symptoms.

When someone is diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome, it's common to think that the issue is really with your wrist, but the truth of the matter is the issue is with your spine. That's what we find 95% of the time. There is some interference and some pressure and compression going on where the delicate nerve roots exit the spine and put pressure on these delicate nerve roots that create the brachial plexus.

When we deal with the issues at the spinal level, the tension, the stress and the pressure that's putting pressure on the nerves that eventually reach the wrist, the carpal tunnel syndrome symptoms magically dissipate.
