Falconer is a Power Metal band from Sweden that I love since the begininng in 2001 with the self-titled. I think they distinguish themselves in the other Power genre with the low voice of Mathias Blad and the quality of the melodies that Stefan Weinerhall writes. The band is all about great melodies, strong riffs and beautiful vocal lines, forget the falsetto thing here.

The track "Subtitutional World" is a wonderful example of all the aforementioned description. It starts with an up tempo riff thats shows the capacity of M. Weinerhall to compose well constructed riff. Next in line is a very good melody then the speed comes in with double bass drum and on top of that, the magnificent tone of M. Blad. The chorus is soothing while the drum is still kicking in. The middle section presents two very melodic guitar solos, two smoother passages that I absolutely love. One of them has a folkloric vibe to add some diversity. Don't miss the end of the song because the best melody here concludes this awesome track.

They are rehearsing new songs right now after 4 years of inaction, I can't wait since the last album was very strong.
