Dr. John R. Rice (1895–1980) mighty, 20th-century Fundamental Baptist evangelist, best known as the founding editor of The Sword of the Lord newspaper in 1934. A passionate preacher and author, Rice authored over 200 books and pamphlets, selling millions, with titles like The Home: Courtship, Marriage and Children. He pastored churches in Dallas and Chicago, led large-scale meetings, and mentored countless leaders, emphasizing soul-winning and biblical inerrancy. His uncompromising stand against modernism and ecumenism shaped Fundamentalist thought.
