Mac is a Cork sheep who truly believes that he is a dog.

Rescued as a lamb last spring, Mac was hand reared by Shirley Ladd on her father’s farm in Castletownroche. All of Mac’s life to date has been spent with the farm dogs. He is one of them now, says Shirley Ladd,

He’s always been with dogs...that’s what he is in his own mind.

This inquisitive, independent and sociable sheep shows no sign of having the herd instinct. He prefers to go for long walks with his canine buddies. Tom Ladd explains that Mac will ramble along happily for hours, enjoying the sights and sounds of the Cork countryside,

There’s great excitement to find a rabbit.

Participating in as many aspects of farm life as he can, Mac is very much part of the pack,

He just can’t bear to be left behind.
