‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all thro’ the land,
Not a show caller was stirring, wondering where is the band?
The lighting truss was hung by the riggers with care,
In hopes the inspector soon would be there.
The roadies were nestled all snug on their bus,
Dreaming visions of changes that were a must,
And the production manager rested, removing his cap,
He closed one eye for a fifteen-second nap.
When on the nightly news, there arose such a clatter,
Taylor Swift’s upcoming tour had crashed Ticketmaster.
Away to their phones, her fans flew like a flash,
All the shows were sold out, they might miss the bash.
As the seasons changed with the new-fallen snow,
Post Malone fed the flame because he couldn’t let it go.
The fans cheered with joy as he performed at MDLBeast,
Singing his hit “Circles,” and wishing everyone peace.
Next, a little old drummer, so lively and quick,
Metallica’s Lars pounded fast, with his drumsticks
More rapid than eagles they played for the fans,
James growled to the mic, singing Enter Sandman.
Now! Mick, now! Keith, now! Ronnie and Charlie,
One more tour, we say, it will be a big party;
So The Rolling Stones geared up to go get some action!
And Mick strutted around despite no “Satisfaction!”
As the lights went dim before the crowd’s eyes,
Low fog billowed out, wicking up to the sky;
So up to the lighting rig, Gene Simmons flew,
His face covered in fake blood, his bass guitar too.
And then came the 50th American Music Awards show
Best female hip hop artist to Nicki Minaj it would go,
Kendrick Lamar won for best male with “Rich Spirt,”
You’ll need tickets for his Big Steppers Tour to hear it.
Zac Brown grabbed his guitar and donned his felt hat,
Playing “Homegrown” music, bearing arms covered in tat’s;
He dipped his “Toes” in the water, despite the “Colder Weather,”
Playing at Fenway Park just couldn’t get any better:
Her eyes - how they twinkled! her smile, how merry,
Carrie Underwood performed. What a tune she could carry;
Her Denim and Rhinestones Tour rolled across the land,
She sang “Before He Cheats” entertaining her loyal fans;
There was “No Time To Die” for Billie Eilish,
Happier Than Ever, The World Tour was her fans’ only wish.
Bouncing around the stage to “Bad Guy” she sang,
“All The Good Girls Go To Hell” the flames, up they came.
Coldplay’s stadium world tour was all the rage,
With plenty of pyro shooting high over the stage;
Under “A Sky Full of Stars,” it was “Yellow” they played,
To “Viva La Vida” the audience rocked and swayed.
At the end of the night, the roadies went straight to their work,
Loading the road cases; without complaints and perks,
They rolled up the cables they’d laid out in long rows,
Then down came the truss, and back on the truck it goes.
The band boarded their jet, and flew on to the next show,
The roadies boarded the bus with new swag and clothes.
Then the tour trucks fired up and drove out of sight-
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone,
The Ultratec Special Effects Team
