Why The Chemistry Major Sucks

Hi guys! In this video I talk about a few issues with choosing Chemistry as your major. I also discuss the popularity of the Chemistry major and why it is not as popular as Biology or Physics. Chemistry suffers from being a hard science requiring a masters or doctoral degree to get into research as a career. Without one you are stuck as a lab tech in a low paying job after 4 years of school. The extra years of school needed to get into a high paying chemistry job further decrease the value of choosing chemistry as your major. If finance is your main goal there are much better options then the extremely difficult chemistry major. That being said, if chemistry is truly your passion and you pursue it as a career with continuing education there are some very high paying industry jobs out there for you in a multitude of chemistry fields.
